About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join a dynamic team near Truro, Cornwall. This role involves maintaining, installing, and improving electrical systems across a water treatment site, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting the site’s overall operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise and a commitment to upholding health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine inspection and maintenance of electrical equipment across the site.
- Ensure all installations and operations comply with mechanical/electrical specifications and site layouts.
- Troubleshoot breakdowns and maintain adequate spare parts for plant and equipment.
- Support the Site Manager in ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to coordinate technical support and resources.
- Prepare specifications for the purchase of equipment and materials as required.
- Assist with coordinating deliveries of materials, plant, and equipment.
- Supervise and collaborate with technicians, workers, and subcontractors on-site.
- Conduct site tours, raise safety concerns, and help resolve issues promptly.
- Assist in managing site operations during weekend rotations as agreed with the Site Manager.
- Maintain documentation, support testing activities, and ensure compliance with safety codes.
Essential Qualifications & Training:
- NVQ or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
- 18th Edition
Desirable Qualifications & Training:
- CSCS Card
- Temporary Works Awareness
- Mechanical Training (NVQ)
- Slinger/Signaller
