Morva Recruitment is working on behalf of a leading provider of innovative water and wastewater treatment solutions. They are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their expanding team.

The Mechanical Project Engineer who will be responsible for leading non-standard Hire, Parts & Service (HPS) projects within specific customer geographical areas. The role is crucial to maximising opportunities and delivering excellent customer service at all times. As part of a growing business unit, the Mechanical Project Engineer will support planned and reactive projects across the UK, ensuring successful project execution.

Key Duties:

  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits to scope complex and non-standard work, ensuring accurate assessment and planning.

  • Upselling & Opportunity Maximisation: Identify and capitalise on upselling opportunities, maximising the value of each project.

  • Business Promotion: Actively promote the HPS business and the wider group to existing and potential clients.

  • Enquiry & Lead Management: Manage allocated enquiries and leads, ensuring timely and effective follow-up.

  • Customer Presentations: Deliver customer presentations as required to support business development and project proposals.

  • Technical Quotations: Prepare detailed technical quotations that meet customer requirements and align with company standards.

  • RAMS Production: Develop and produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for all projects.

  • Project Supervision: Support the HPS Manager to oversee projects both remotely and on-site, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports for both management and clients, detailing project progress, outcomes, and any issues.

  • KPI & Budget Achievement: Strive to meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and budget targets set for the HPS business, such as quote turnaround times, win rates, and income targets.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with all colleagues to ensure project success and seamless service delivery.

  • Project Planning & Coordination: Plan and coordinate projects to ensure they are completed safely, on time, and within budget constraints.

  • Additional Tasks: Perform any other tasks as required by the company in conjunction with the day-to-day running of the business for commercial and operational efficiency.

Reporting Obligations:

All staff members are required to report any Quality, Health & Safety, or Environmental (QHSE) concerns. If something does not look right, it must be raised immediately.

  • Weekly Reporting: Provide team updates on live and lost opportunities, customer service issues, and other relevant matters.

  • Monthly Reporting: Submit project reports for the HPS Business Unit Review, covering Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ), operational performance, finance, and project status.

Required Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong leadership and project coordination skills.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in identifying opportunities.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to prepare detailed technical documentation, including quotations and RAMS.

  • Strong focus on customer service and satisfaction.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Must hold a Mechanical Engineering qualification.

  • Must have permanent right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).

  • A valid driving license is required due to national travel expectations.
